Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace Migrations

Moving platforms affects more than email. Nexxiv plans migrations around accounts, shared information, permissions and the way staff work. Whether the business is moving into Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or a better-organised tenant, the process starts with understanding what must move and what will change.

When it matters

Make the technology easier to manage.

Different platforms do not organise every feature in the same way. Mailboxes, calendars, shared drives and document formats need separate consideration. Old data, missing domain access and unclear ownership can delay a move. Discovering those issues before the cutover creates a more realistic plan and gives staff time to prepare.

What Nexxiv does

Practical work. Clear responsibilities.

Discovery and destination planning

Inventory users, mailboxes, shared resources and data locations. Confirm domain ownership, administrative access and required licences, then define the destination structure and what is included in the move.

Email and calendar migration

Plan the movement of supported mailbox content and related information. Document limitations, scheduling and mail-flow changes, with checks before and after the business begins using the new platform.

Files and permissions

Review shared storage and personal working files. Map ownership and access, assess format compatibility and check which links, sharing arrangements or application integrations will need to be recreated.

Pilot and cutover

Test a representative migration before the main change where appropriate. Set expectations for staff, sequence final data movement and domain changes, and plan contingencies for issues identified during the transition.

Validation and handover

Check agreed data samples, account access and key workflows. Explain the new sign-in and collaboration arrangements, record exceptions and confirm retention decisions before retiring the old environment.

The outcome

What good implementation looks like.

A good migration has an agreed inventory, a clear cutover plan and evidence that important workflows operate afterwards. Staff know what is changing and where to obtain help. The source environment is not simply deleted when the transfer reports completion; validation, retention requirements and business approval inform the decommissioning plan.

Common questions

Before you get started.

Can everything be moved exactly as it is?

Not always. Features, file formats and permissions differ between platforms. Discovery identifies what can transfer, what needs adjustment and what may require a separate process before the business commits to the migration.

Will there be downtime?

Some tasks may require interruptions or temporary access changes. The plan explains expected impacts and dependencies. A migration should not be described as disruption-free before the source environment is assessed.

Can you help us choose the platform first?

Yes. Existing applications, staff preferences, collaboration requirements and administrative needs should drive the choice. Nexxiv can assess those factors before a destination is selected.

Let’s get your IT working properly.
