Business Networks & Wi-Fi

A business network should support the way people work across the premises. Nexxiv plans and configures switches, access points, firewalls and connectivity for businesses in Mackay and Queensland. The aim is reliable coverage, sensible separation and infrastructure that can be maintained as requirements change.

When it matters

Make the technology easier to manage.

Slow Wi-Fi is not always an internet problem. Coverage gaps, interference, ageing equipment, weak cabling or an overloaded connection can produce similar symptoms. Adding another router without understanding the cause can make the environment harder to manage. A useful assessment starts by separating internet, wired-network and wireless performance.

What Nexxiv does

Practical work. Clear responsibilities.

Network assessment and planning

Review the premises, current equipment, device numbers and important applications. Identify coverage requirements, connection bottlenecks and dependencies before recommending changes or replacing hardware.

Business Wi-Fi

Position and configure access points for the space and expected use. Consider building materials, interference and how devices move through the premises, rather than relying on a single centrally placed router.

Switching and wired connections

Plan switch capacity and wired connections for fixed equipment. Power over Ethernet can simplify supported access-point installation; power budgets and physical cabling requirements are checked as part of the design.

Firewall and network separation

Configure access rules and separate guest connectivity from business resources where appropriate. Review remote administration and unnecessary exposed services, with changes documented for future support.

Handover and ongoing care

Test important work areas and applications, record the configuration and explain operational requirements. Coordinate internet providers and appropriately licensed cabling trades where physical infrastructure work is required.

The outcome

What good implementation looks like.

A good network is assessed against real work, not just a speed-test result beside the router. Staff can connect in the areas they use, guest access is controlled and important devices have suitable connectivity. Equipment, credentials and configuration are documented. Where an internet interruption would materially affect operations, failover options can be considered with their limits.

Common questions

Before you get started.

Will a faster internet plan fix our Wi-Fi?

Only if the internet connection is the bottleneck. Weak wireless coverage or a local network fault can remain unchanged after an upgrade. Testing helps establish which part needs attention.

Do we need multiple access points?

That depends on the premises, building materials, device density and coverage needs. A planned design is more useful than choosing a number of access points from floor area alone.

Can you help with a new office network?

Yes. Nexxiv can scope network equipment, connectivity and configuration for a new premises, coordinating with the business, internet provider and licensed cabling trades as required.

Let’s get your IT working properly.
