Cyber Security

Good security starts with how your systems are configured and maintained. Nexxiv helps reduce avoidable exposure across accounts, computers, email and networks. The focus is on controls your business can operate consistently, with clear priorities and a recovery plan that matches the importance of your information.

When it matters

Make the technology easier to manage.

Security gaps often develop through ordinary changes: a new device is not configured, an old account remains active or a software update is missed. Adding another product does not automatically close those gaps. Security needs an owner, a maintained baseline and a process for reviewing changes. No set of controls can prevent every incident.

What Nexxiv does

Practical work. Clear responsibilities.

Protect sign-ins

Configure multi-factor authentication and review how users access business systems. Conditional Access can apply contextual access rules where appropriate licensing is in place; policies are tested carefully to avoid unintended lockouts.

Reduce unnecessary access

Apply least privilege so staff receive access needed for their role. Separate administrator activity from everyday work, review inactive accounts and make access removal part of the offboarding process.

Harden business devices

Review supported operating systems, encryption, local administrator permissions and security settings. Configure suitable endpoint protection, including Microsoft Defender where selected and correctly licensed, and address findings through an agreed process.

Keep software maintained

Manage patching for supported systems and applications. Identify unsupported software and unnecessary services, then plan remediation around business dependencies rather than leaving known weaknesses unresolved.

Secure email and plan recovery

Review email protection and domain authentication settings, alongside backup coverage and restore procedures. These controls help reduce risk and improve the ability to recover; they are not a guarantee against compromise.

The outcome

What good implementation looks like.

The result should be a documented security baseline with clear responsibilities, prioritised improvements and regular review. Controls must remain workable for staff, and exceptions should be understood rather than silently ignored. Recovery planning considers who makes decisions, which systems matter first and how the business checks that its backups can be restored.

Common questions

Before you get started.

Is cyber security a one-off project?

An initial project can resolve configuration gaps, but accounts, devices and threats continue to change. Patching, access reviews, monitoring and recovery checks require ongoing attention.

Do we need Microsoft 365 Business Premium?

The appropriate subscription depends on the controls required. Conditional Access and Microsoft Defender features have licensing requirements that must be checked for the users and devices covered. Nexxiv reviews suitability before recommending a change.

Can you guarantee that we will not have an incident?

No. Practical controls reduce exposure and support recovery, but no provider can eliminate every risk. Nexxiv explains the scope, limitations and remaining responsibilities clearly.
