Ad Hoc IT Projects

Not every business needs an ongoing managed service. Nexxiv provides defined pieces of IT work when there is a particular issue to investigate, a configuration to improve or a change to deliver. The scope focuses on the outcome you need and the responsibilities that remain afterwards.

When it matters

Make the technology easier to manage.

One-off work can lose direction when a symptom is mistaken for the whole problem. A slow application may depend on a device, a network or an external provider. Establishing the starting point and agreeing how additional findings will be handled prevents a small request from becoming an open-ended engagement.

What Nexxiv does

Practical work. Clear responsibilities.

Investigate a specific issue

Assess an agreed technical problem and identify the evidence needed to understand it. Explain findings in practical terms, including dependencies on third-party systems or further investigation outside the initial scope.

Improve configuration

Address a defined set of account, device or application settings. Document the starting point and agreed changes, with appropriate access approval and consideration for the people affected.

Carry out a focused upgrade

Plan a contained hardware, software or network improvement. Check compatibility, licensing and installation requirements, then test the relevant functions rather than assuming a completed installation means the issue is resolved.

Review an environment

Provide a scoped assessment of selected systems and a prioritised set of observations. Distinguish immediate concerns from longer-term improvements so the business can make a clear spending decision.

Leave a useful handover

Record the work completed, important configuration details and any outstanding actions. Clarify what has been tested and who is responsible for maintenance after the engagement ends.

The outcome

What good implementation looks like.

Good ad hoc work has a defined finish. The business understands the findings, receives the agreed deliverables and knows whether further action is needed. If the same issues keep recurring, Nexxiv can explain whether regular maintenance would be more practical; an ongoing agreement is not assumed as part of a one-off project.

Common questions

Before you get started.

Do we have to become a managed IT client?

No. A specific project or assessment can be agreed separately. The scope describes the work, access requirements and handover so both parties understand the engagement.

Can you work alongside our current provider?

Yes, where responsibilities and authorised access are clear. Nexxiv can scope a defined piece of work without assuming control of systems already managed under another arrangement.

What happens if the issue is larger than expected?

Findings are explained before additional work is agreed. The next step may be an expanded investigation, a separate project or coordination with the relevant vendor. Work outside the agreed scope is not silently added.

Let’s get your IT working properly.
